February 17 is the birthday of two people who have meant a great deal to me.
The first one was my mother's brother Jef who was born in Okegem in 1916. He passed away in Liedekerke on November 24 1994. I hold many excellent memories of my visits with him and his family.
My great-great-grandfather Karel Timmermans died in Meerbeke on February 17 1883. I know next to nothing about him ; I am not even sure about the number of children he had with his two wives. I want to find out more, but that shall not be anytime soon because my systematic genealogical research is on hold.
