LIfe on earth

The U.N. environment chief is reported to have said that we are destroying life on Earth.

"A U.N.-backed study this month said global environmental damage caused by human activity in 2008 totaled $6.6 trillion, equivalent to 11 percent of global gross domestic product."

Two simple remarks :

1. Why Earth wit a capital E ? Earth is not a goddess, but then Americans put capitals everywhere.
2. As long as we measure damage in dollars and cents we shall never be able to solve the problem.

The problem of the conservation of the earth and the survival of the human race is far beyond dollars and cents.
