Now, the US president is not a great light shining upon the hill. But some of his opponents probably are beyond help.
No one or nobody can defeat the USA. Only the Americans can defeat America. And a significant part of the population apparently is trying to, by greed, stupidity, bigotry, shortsighted dogmatism and sheer madness !
Hopefully, the rest of the world will not have to pay for it !
