Egonomics

Are economics really about egonomics ? An interesting article is to be found on : http://stumblingandmumbling.typepad.com/stumbling_and_mumbling/.

I must say I recognise some of the personality aspects described in that short analysis. I particularly like :

"Overconfidence is mistaken for actual ability. As a result, the demand for egomaniacs is increased, at the expense of demand for people with more realistic assessments of their own merits."

That sentence tells the story of a significant part of top management types.
