In the "News near you" category Google has selected "Flemish Region, Belgium". I had never noticed this before. Maybe I never saw it because Google is not my favorite news source and because I only look at its titles of the world news (the world being centered on the USA of course).
I hate it when other people or organisations think they have to make choices for me. I am perfectly capable of doing that myself.
But this occurence once more typifies the arrogance of that G-giant on clay feet. I do not need its patronage in selecting the news I want to read. I am an inhabitant and a citizen of Belgium. I want the news from Belgium and all its regions. I already know more than I want too about greater Antwerp (sorry, I mean Flanders).
