Midsomer again

I like English whodunits. There are great classics like Morse, and to a lesser degree, Frost.

This afternoon, the VRT treated us to an umptieth repeat of an episode of “Midsomer murders”. I think I must have seen most of them two or three times.

Midsumer murders is in a class of its own : it combines nice idyllic houses and fantastic landscapes straight out of ye olde romantic, picturesque England with average acting and weak scenarios. The series has been running since 1997.

And it features some of the  the worst policemen ever : in each episode three or four murders have to be committed before the heros find the killer(s) ;  and never have they been questioned as to their apparent utter incompetence. Midsomer is a crime ridden county : the murder rate is about twice as high as it is in London ...

And almost each episode crawls with improbabilities and is full of incoherences.

But, heck, what the hell. It’s a nice pass time after all.
