It is impossible to rise to the rank of CEO without a serious dose of ambition and at least a whiff of killer instinct. It may be impossible to rise to that rank without a certain dose of intelligence, or cunning.
But it is perfectly possible to rise to that rank without any wisdom whatsoever. Wisdom may even be a factor which severely limits one's chances of becoming a CEO.
